Every product and category cycles through increasing or decreasing levels of popularity. These changes may be related to season, fads, advertising, news events and stories or  external factors.

Some of these trends are predictable due to annual holidays, such as flowers on Valentines day, however others seem to  behave in a much more random fashion.
